Ok’ so I am not one to usually just poach other videos off websites that don’t relate to a certain topic or what not, but this new clip of John John Florence is amazing. His surfing is the future, it has a good soundtrack and even better it features Greyson Fletcher and Jack Fardell tearing up an Austrailian skatepark. Greyson is basically JJF’s surfing embodied on a piece of wood or maybe its the other way around and Greysons huge, no handed floating airs (clearly inspired by the genius of his father; the one responsible for bringing aerial surfing to the mainstream) has inspired JJ’s surfing over the years? Either way mixing the 2 in one clip is always entertaining. Enjoy”
I’m pretty sure its kooky to call the outer banks of NC the “obx” but considering how un-often i surf being a kook is starting to suit me well. Not the Thompson tribe though, these guys are all over it, from winning contests to traveling and scoring photos- sprinkle in some last minute all night drives to spitting sandbars ten hours away and you’ve got a formula for the opposite of me, the anti-kook. These guys have surfed for the shop since they were tiny groms and are really considered family. Its been nice to watch them grow up over the years and see their surfing mature and oh how mature it is. All three brothers, Evan-Cody and Tristan, get completely shacked in this little clip from their recent trip up 95 to Hatteras, so sit back and enjoy!
Sunrise team rider Ryan Briggs has a new video clip of himself in Puerto Rico. It was filmed recently, i mean really recently, and its smattered with Briggsy’s trademark smooth style and a lot of nice rail work. I must say his surfing is looking mature lately and he’s clearly getting his custom Mayhem sleds dialed in, not to mention he’s moving a lot of water for a dude with such skinny legs! Good song, great edit and sunny PR, whats not to like? I’m curious exactly which …lost models he is riding in this clip so i will find out and let everybody know. I’m guessing a Driver or an F-1 or maybe even a Sub driver?
John John Florence finally released his new video on i-tunes yesterday. The name of the flick is DONE and i must say its a good, albeit short, surf movie. John John attacked this project with more of a skateboarders mindset in the sense that he filmed for years but only used the A++ stuff for his movie. There is not one wave on here, ridden by JJF at least, that is a filler. Every single turn, air or barrel is a banger and man is he entertaining to watch on a board. The movie is only 23 minutes long but i dig the editing, it has a good soundtrack and its pretty damn cheap (think i paid $8). I will definitely let everybody know if John John decides to release and sell hard copies of the movie but as of now its just available on i-tunes and honestly its so short that it probably wouldn’t be worth $15 or $20 unless he adds some bonus footage. Check the trailer below, go to i-tunes and froth out on this flat rainy day.
New and available for custom orders at Sunrise are the new Taj Whiplash Mayhem’s from Lost Surfboards. Check out this video of Taj going nuts on his signature model.
